Seven women were taken into custody after Mount Lavinia Police raided two spots there that were imitating as spas.
The Kaduwela Municipal Council and Police worked together to eliminate all "Spa" businesses that were functioning without permission in the Kaduwela Police jurisdiction.

Eight women arrested in connection with three massage centers that were operating under the name of Ayurvedic massage Center in Mount Lavinia. Three of the women arrested have been working as hotel managers. These hotels have been operating in Galle Road, Temple Road and 4th Lane in Mount Lavinia .
The arrested women were aged between 22 and 39 years. They were from Bayagala, Viharahemapalanthura, Pokunuwita, Kahattagashandiya, Madulsima, Puwakpitiya and Hambantota areas.
October 2021
Police have raided a hotel in Mount Lavinia and arrested five foreign women along with its manager. Police said the arrested foreign women were aged 51, 35, 31 and 28. Further they said, the hotel manager was from Kurunegala and the arrested women were from Indonesia.

According to the police media unit, the police have searched a house Dehiwala area. Seven women and a man have been arrested on suspicion of engaging in restricted activities. Two of the arrested women were aged 23 and 29 from Panadura and Wellawatta areas. Also, the other five women were foreigners.

In Ambalantota, two massage parlors were operating illegally without a license, were raid by police (27 Sept.). Reports said that there were two male and nine female suspects were arrested. Birth control pills and other stuffs were found inside centers. Female suspects were aged between 18 and 30, and were residents of Polonnaruwa, Colombo, Matugama, Wellawaya, Balangoda and Weeraketiya. Those arrested suspects will be prosecuted under the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance as they were not taking proper measures to prevent social diseases.
A parlor in Maharagama has been cordoned off by the police (25 Sept.). Parlor was function as illegal spa. It was linking people through the website. It is stated that 4 women and one male were arrested during the raid.
Police has raided a massage center that was operated under the guise of a massage parlor and arrested several women (22 Sept.). The raid was carried out in Thalawathugoda.
August 2020
Public health inspectors raid on two massage centers at Inamaluwa in Dambulla (4 August). Centers that were not consider the Covid-19 pandemic issue. PHIs ordered nine women and four men to remain in the places for self-quarantine. The raids were conducted on information received by the Dambulla MoH. According to PHIs, recent clients will be obtained in order to conduct PCR tests.
Police have raided three massage centers at Slave Island, Thalangama and Negombo (2 August). They arrested 18 persons, including 14 women. These centers had operated by falsely using top police officials amidst a prohibition in view of the Covid-19. Two women and a man were taken into custody.

Mobile eXtra service center has been caught by Mount Lavinia Police. Manager and two women were arrested and a car that used to "supply" performers was under police custody. They have been followed by STF who received information from public. They have been accused that mobile spa service was used Whatsapp to communicate with customers.

Police unit raid a house in Trincomalee-Orr's Hill area. A 32-year-old woman (owner) from Orr's Hill and a 23-year-old woman from the Poonthoddam, Vavuniya have been arrested. The house was functioned as unauthorized spa & massage related activities that tipped by the public.
January 2020
Police arrested fifty two women on suspicion of illegal activities, and they were remanded after being produced before the court. There were aged between 17 and 40 years old. Ten suspects were arrested in connection with the management activities. This operation carried out at 32 massage centers on court orders in Western Province, and 18 illegal massage parlors have been identified.
